Our Team:
We’re a team of homeschool parents with a collective experience of over 45 years in the field of education. Our expertise spans homeschooling from pre-k to college-bound teens, seamlessly navigating the transition to/from public school, and providing unwavering support to neurodiverse learners throughout their educational journey. Our professional backgrounds range from certified public school teachers, certified AP high school teachers, and those who’ve taken alternate routes to enter the teaching world. We’ve also been stay-at-home parents, board-of-education members, tutors, and even summer camp leaders.
Meet Jackie – your lead HPT trainer and coach
Jackie brings her wealth of experience and passion for home education into the realm of parent training and coaching. After working in informal science education at one of the top science centers in the northeast, she went through the alternate route process to become a certified science teacher. Jackie fell in love with teaching and immersed herself in professional development opportunities that focused mostly on instructional strategies and curriculum design. In 2006, she earned the highest teaching credential in the United States – National Board Certification – and began her work as a consultant at several top public universities, providing professional development workshops for teachers, parents, and administrators.
She entered a new chapter by stepping away from her full-time teaching career to become a stay-at-home parent, homeschool mom, and community volunteer. As the mom of two homeschool teens, she has a wealth of experience to share and loves supporting other parents on this journey. As their needs evolved, her children have transitioned between homeschooling, public school, self-directed learning cooperatives, and dual enrollment. She has been able to navigate this by staying focused on 1) building her children’s autonomy, 2) relentlessly finding ways to meet their academic, emotional, and social needs, and 3) nurturing their passions, interests and long-term goals.
Jackie’s diverse skill set, which spans from curriculum design to public advocacy, positions her as an invaluable resource for homeschool parents seeking a seasoned trainer and coach. Her collaborative problem-solving approach, coupled with a genuine passion for education, makes her the ideal guide for families embarking on the homeschooling journey.
